Bellator 222: MacDonald will face Gracie in the Welterweight World Grand Prix Semifinal Title Match

Bellator MMA’s highly awaited episode of 2019 “Bellator 222” will take place this Saturday, June 15 (as per IST) in the renowned Madison Square Garden arena in New York City.  A star-studded line-up is there on the cards. Two title fights featuring current Bellator welterweight world champion Rory MacDonald (20-5-1) and unbeaten Renzo Gracie-trained Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Neiman Gracie (9-0-0), and second match between Lyoto Machida (25-8-0) and Chael Sonnen (31-16-1) will take place on the D Day.

Rory MacDonald, the Bellator welterweight champion will put his belt on the line against challenger Neiman Gracie in the headliner match. The ultimate fight will serve as the second semi-final in the Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix. Following the game, the champion of this match will face Douglas Lima in the finals.

Lyoto Machida, the ex- UFC light heavyweight champ will be eyeing for his second win in Bellator against American Gangster, Chael Sonnen.

Moreover, there is one more rematch on the card between Bellator bantamweight champion Darrion Caldwell and RIZIN bantamweight titleholder Kyoji Horiguchi. Horiguchi won last time when the two met in Rizin’s ring in Japan.
