In yesterday’s thrilling final, India pulled off an astounding victory after beating Bangladesh by four wickets and lift the Nidahas Trophy for one more time. Last time in 1998, under Mohammad Azharuddin’s captaincy, India won the Nidahas Trophy, by 6 runs against the hosts Sri Lanka. This time also, with the same essence, Rohit Sharma’s men proved why they are best in the limited overs. Indian young guns roared and that too in a way when their rumble reached to every corner of the world. Currently, India is standing at number 3 in the ICC T20I Team Rankings.
Last night, it was Dinesh Karthik, Rohit Sharma and Washington Sundar who eased the FINAL’s pressure and sealed a four-wicket victory over Bangladesh. Karthik’s unbeaten 29-off 8 balls and the startling SIX on the last ball turned the game in India’s favour. Also, Rohit Sharma played a respectful captain’s innings. His masterclass 14th 50 (56 off 42 balls) helped India to make a comeback in the game and increased Bangladesh’s misery. The 51-run stand between Rohit and KL Rahul was broken by Rubel Hossain.
Indian bowlers too displayed their beauty of spinning, Washington Sundar (1/20 in 4 overs) and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (3/18 in 4 overs) were brilliant in the powerplay. Also, Jaydev Unadkat seen with some fine spells, he took 2/33 in 4 overs.
